Prune Diet

General rules

Among the diet programs for weight loss and body unloading, various dried fruits are often used, one of which is prunes. Despite its relatively high calorie content (about 260 kcal / 100 g) glycemic index prunes are much smaller than other types of dried fruits and are only 25, which allows it to be widely used in diet food without the risk of a sharp increase insulin and blood sugar. In fact, prunes are the fruits of plums of the Vengerka variety, dried by the method of drying. The nutritional value of a product is determined by the ingredients that make up its composition: proteins - 1.8 g, fats - 0.5 g and carbohydrates - 59.7; vitamins A, AT, IN 2, IN 3, AT 5, FROM, E; trace elements potassium, magnesium, copper, manganese, sodium, calcium, iron, phosphorus), organic acids, plant fibers, pectin.

Prunes during a diet normalize blood pressure and water-salt balance, have a mild laxative, diuretic effect, cleanse the intestines well and can be used for constipation. For dietary nutrition, it is necessary to use natural products of good quality without mold, gloss. The taste of prunes should be sweet with a slight acidity. It is better to purchase prunes in the market by weight, since various preservatives are often added to prunes packed in bags. Before use, prunes should be washed well in warm water.

Diet on prunes can be either a mono-diet or a diet with an expanded diet.

Mono diet with prunes

A mono-diet on prunes is designed for 3 days and can be recommended only to people who do not have health problems, due to the low calorie content and unbalanced diet, increased urination and stool (with a change in its consistency). The diet includes 1% kefir in an amount of 1-1.5 l and prunes - 100 g. The entire volume of food is divided into 5-6 receptions. The calorie content of this variant of the diet varies between 700-900 Kcal / day. At the same time, it is necessary to consume at least 1.5 liters of free liquid in the form of mineral water, herbal and green tea, a rosehip broth. To increase efficiency, it is advisable to cleanse the body a day before it. Diet on prunes (extended diet).

In this version of the diet, in addition to prunes and kefir, various foods are included in the diet - vegetables, both fresh and boiled, lean meat and fish, cottage cheese, whole grain cereals, chicken eggs, vegetable oils in small quantities. Such a diet provides a more balanced intake of food ingredients in the body, includes animal proteins, which allows you to increase the duration of the diet up to 7 days. With any version of the prune diet, an additional intake of complex preparations containing a wide range of vitamins and minerals is recommended.

Allowed Products

The prune diet includes the following foods in the diet:

  • Prunes, 1-2% kefir, low-fat cottage cheese, natural yogurt.
  • Meat of chicken, turkey, rabbit, chicken eggs.
  • Whole grain cereals.
  • Fish (herring, hake, tuna, pike, salmon) in any cooking, seafood (squid, mussels, crabs, oysters, shrimps).
  • Cold pressed vegetable oils.
  • A wide assortment of vegetables (onions, carrots, cabbage, zucchini, eggplant, celery stalks, tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, green beans), garden greens, green lettuce leaves.
  • Rosehip broth, herbal / green teas, mineral (table) still / purified water.
