Diet for eczema

General rules

Eczema belongs to the group dermatoses with a chronic recurrent course, manifested by a characteristic serous reaction of inflammation of the epidermis and dermis of the skin (in the form of grouped small vesicles), itching and a pronounced weeping. The basis of the disease is an increased sensitivity of the skin to exogenous / endogenous irritants with the development of sensitization of the body to physical, chemical, infectious, food antigens, which determines the variety of forms of eczema. The disease proceeds, as a rule, against the background of the secondary immunodeficiency, genetic predisposition, infectious and allergic processes, nervous system dysfunction, gastrointestinal tract diseases.

Diet plays a significant role in the treatment of patients (regardless of the form of eczema). With eczema in adults, it is recommended to prescribe a nutritious diet with a sharp restriction of simple carbohydrates and sodium chloride. The diet should contain a physiological norm of proteins, which is achieved by including products containing high-grade protein (low-fat varieties of red meat, white fish, poultry, dairy products, cottage cheese). Sufficient vitaminization of the diet is of great importance. To do this, it should include a sufficient amount of vegetables and fruits, as well as foods rich in fiber, which help to eliminate toxic metabolic products from the body and normalize bowel function (whole grains, bran, almonds, lentils, fruit peels, peanuts, raisins).

An eczema diet on arms and legs should include foods containing antioxidants (vitamins A, FROM, E), which reduce the risk of new lesions of the skin. Vitamin C leafy green salads, blackcurrants, citrus fruits, rose hips, broccoli, strawberries, melon, Brussels sprouts, strawberries, apples, bell peppers, kiwi, sea buckthorn, tomatoes are rich. However, its daily norm (100 mg) should not be exceeded, since it stimulates the growth of connective tissue. It must be borne in mind that the heat treatment of products reduces its content in products to 50%.

It is important for eczema on the arms and legs to include foods rich in vitamin a and beta carotenethat improve skin condition and enhance immunity - fish oil, spinach, pumpkin, green peas, carrots, broccoli, plums, chicken egg yolks, liver. Also, foods rich in foods should be present in the diet. B vitaminscontributing to normalization metabolism and improved digestion - pork, beef, peanuts, buckwheat, brown rice, millet, pine nuts, almonds, pumpkin seeds, oat and barley groats, fish, corn, liver, eggs. The diet should include 1.2-1.5 liters of free liquid in the form of juices, mineral still water, compotes and various types of tea.

In the diet of an eczema patient, foods and dishes containing easily digestible carbohydrates are limited: sugar, jam, confectionery, honey, sweets, cakes. Sugar can be replaced aspartame, xylitol, saccharin. The inclusion in the diet of strong meat, fish and mushroom broths, fried and spicy dishes, canned food, pickled and pickled vegetables, animal fats, smoked meats, coffee, carbonated and alcohol-containing drinks.

With eczema occurring with a pronounced allergic component, the patient is shown a general hypoallergenic diet. The diet excludes all products with a high potential for allergenic activity and a pronounced sensitizing effect, as well as products that irritate the gastrointestinal mucosa. Potentially allergenic foods are chicken eggs, milk, fish and seafood, caviar, goose and duck meat, herring, legumes, oysters, mushrooms, yeast, honey, citrus fruits, spinach, various nuts, legumes, melon, tomatoes, raspberries, peaches, cocoa , strawberries, chocolate vegetables and fruits red-orange color. These products in the period of exacerbation of eczema from the diet should be excluded. It is also important to limit easily digestible carbohydrates (honey, sugar syrups, jam, preserves), which can exacerbate the inflammatory process. Fatty varieties of pork / beef, wheat bread, sour cream, whole milk, semolina are subject to restriction.

Particular attention in the diet should be given to foods that contain large quantities histamine and tyramineactively involved in the development of allergic reactions. These substances are contained in products manufactured using technologies with fermentation processes (sauerkraut, hard cheese, smoked sausage, canned fish, sausages and sausages). Products that accelerate the absorption of allergens are also subject to limitation: carbonated, sugary and alcohol-containing drinks, coffee, spices and spices, salted fish and vegetables. The diet for eczema of the hands provides for strict restriction of products that include artificial food additives (flavors, antioxidants, preservatives, dyes).

In the acute period of the disease, the patient is recommended to stay on a dairy-vegetable diet (cottage cheese, sour-milk products, allowed vegetables and fruits) for 7-10 days, and then, as the clinical symptoms stop, gradually expand the diet. With a combination of eczema of the hands with intestinal dysbiosis must be included in the diet prebiotics, and in more severe cases - probiotics(Lactofit forte, Lactobacterin, Biosporin, Linex, Bifiform), effectively restoring the natural intestinal biocenosis. Of the cooking methods in order to protect the gastrointestinal mucosa from chemical exposure, it is recommended to use baking or boiling foods, frying is not allowed. Eating - fractional, in small portions. When compiling a diet and cooking, you must follow a number of rules:

  • The use of raw vegetables and fruits must be minimized, giving preference to products that have undergone heat treatment, significantly reducing the allergic activity of the products.
  • Drain the first water after boiling in the preparation of broths, cereals, mashed vegetables and soups.

A severe itching of the skin begins, rashes, and after combing, a purulent infection joins. For a long time, he was saved by prednisone, but now it does not help, and I am afraid of side effects. Now I carry out all the appointments of a doctor, quit drinking alcohol, went on a diet. It seems to be easier";
  • "... I suffer from eczema on the skin of the hands. Exacerbation begins immediately, even after slight contact with detergents. Immediately I sit down on a milk and vegetable diet, I exclude chocolate, eggs, spicy, salted smoked, dishes, citrus fruits, any alcohol. I take antihistamines - Tavegill or Loratadin; sedatives - Novopassit, valerian, motherwort; enterosorbents - Polysorb, activated carbon; various ointments, now - Acrustal".
