In a happy expectation of the appearance of the child, parents seek to make repairs in the future nursery and decorate it as original as possible. But scientists caution against such actions: according to some experts, a recent repair can subsequently become the cause of health problems in a newborn. According to researchers from Helmholtz Centerand, due to the new laminate, carpet and other materials that are used in the repair process, the baby may have difficulty breathing. Moreover, materials for repair can negatively affect the state of the baby's body even at the stage of fetal development. The most dangerous, according to doctors, are those compounds that are contained in new materials for decoration.
In particular, experts argue that ethylbenzene, styrene and other compounds can be very dangerous for the baby’s lungs, as they are toxic. During pregnancy, their effects can provoke an immune response, which may ultimately lead to the manifestation of allergies at the baby. Scientists urge conscious parents not to make repairs in the house at a time when a woman is carrying a baby, as well as in the first year of his life. Especially seriously should take such recommendations to those parents who themselves suffer from allergic diseases: rhinitis, asthma and others. Such parents give birth to children in whom, due to the influence of toxic materials, respiratory arrests are noted much more often.
The fact that polluted air negatively affects the health of the unborn child is confirmed by other experts. Scientists at the Harvard Public Health School recently reported that they were able to confirm the link between development autism in a child and the influence of dirty air during pregnancy. The study involved 1767 children. As a result, scientists determined that the strong air pollution that a woman constantly breathed during the gestation period doubles the likelihood of a child developing autism in later life. As an option to explain this pattern, scientists call the fact that exhaust particles settle in the lungs and enter the bloodstream. That is why experts advise pregnant women to try to get rid of the effects of polluted air.
